The literature in the field of arts-based management acknowledges that the combination of formal and informal dimensions that artists see can provide valuable insights for modern entrepreneurs and ...business managers. Due to the progress achieved to date, this study aims to map the field of arts-based management based on a systematic review of 137 scientific articles published in refereed scientific journals from 1973 through 2015. Specifically, based on two different citation analysis methods – bibliographic coupling and co-citation –, the results allow for the identification of some of the most active and influential articles, journals and authors in the field, revealing rankings, collaboration networks and clusters of contributions to the literature. This type of analysis is important to enhance our understanding of the intellectual structure of the field, and can be used to support the identification of new lines for future research.

This work presents and values a model of complementary activity to the students training based on monographic works carried out from the analysis and review of scientific publications. This model ...promotes an extra motivation in those students with a real interest in learning beyond the basic content included in the subject program. In most cases, this proposal generates an important attraction when facing a type of unknown information.Firstly, a basic introduction to the problem is developed; after that, a selection of a coherent number of articles or communications is done, analysing the key contributions on the subject at hand; and finally, conclusions are stated. Exceptionally, it is proposed that students add a section including real cases observed in their daily environment (e.g., new products, pathologies and damages, execution systems).
Scientific papers are valuable sources of information for scientific study. Apart from the main text, their content holds a notable amount of information. Recently, COVID-19 and related papers have ...attracted much attention between academic researchers, non-academic people, and diverse social media. These papers can reveal different aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Publication criteria are changing rapidly for science-related coronavirus pandemic, as scientists worldwide conduct research at breakneck speeds to tackle this pandemic(1). During the last pandemic, we dived into the scientific literature to reflect on the COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers have created so much about COVID-19 related information that has been necessary for public health responses and the speedy development of therapeutic protocols and effective vaccines(2). To date, different therapeutic theories have been presented for treating and preventing COVID-19(3–6). However, the COVID-19 pandemic has severely discouraged people's lifestyle and economic situation. Therefore, many people, including lawmakers and directors from different agencies, have turned to the scientific society for answers regarding actions that need to be taken to control and treat the COVID-19(2). Nevertheless, many scientific studies published concerning the COVID-19; even those reported by prestigious journals fall short on experimental evidence to support their conclusions. Tremendous pressure existed to immediately know more about COVID-19 and how to stop this pandemic. Hence, the aforementioned situation created a unique atmosphere that led editors and reviewers to accept manuscripts that would have never been considered for publication under different conditions. During this pandemic, the piece of unreliable information was reported in journal papers. Some of these journals are prestigious with considerable scientific impact factors. However, publishing this erroneous information was a negative point for these journals and their authors. Still, this erroneous information compared to shared inaccurate information in different electronic media, primarily virtual media, was debatable and valuable. In virtual media, many fortune-tellers were reputed due to sharing different predictions of the future of this pandemic. Many virtual channels shared their false profitable information. Understanding developing areas of a multidisciplinary research field is critical for managing the COVID-19 pandemic. After the emerging COVID-19 pandemic, many multidisciplinary researchers focused on COVID-19 treatment and its impositions. Different medicine and biotechnology branches are mobilized to provide the best therapeutic approach for treating COVID-19 patients. In addition to traditional protocols, modern emerging fields such as cell-based therapy and personalized medicine also entered into this area(7,8). Hence, many studies began, and then many papers published in this regard. However, it is often difficult to understand their validity and efficacy with the vast amount of available online papers. This letter presents a brief analysis to interpret and visualize published papers related to COVID-19 during the last two years. Based on released information of the national center for biotechnology information (NCBI), 139114 journal manuscripts in Pub Med and 157482 journal manuscripts in PMC have been indexed (Figure-1)(9). Currently, the total number of published paper related to COVID-19 are increasing. However, publishing academic papers is one of the critical roles of academic societies that can present many advances in improving public health knowledge.
With open‐access publishing authors often pay an article processing charge and subsequently their article is freely available online. These charges are beyond the reach of most African academics. ...Thus, the trend towards open‐access publishing will shift the business model from a pay‐wall model, where access to literature is limited, to a pay‐to‐publish one, where African scholars cannot afford to publish. We explore the costs of publishing and the ability of African scholars to afford to publish via open access in top journals. Three‐quarters of the 40 top ecology journals required payment for open‐access publishing (average cost $3150). Paying such fees is a hardship for African scholars as grant funding is not available and it is not feasible to pay the fees themselves as salaries are low. We encourage funders and publishers to facilitate an equitable publishing model that allows African scholars to make their research available through open‐access publishing.

We explored the costs of publishing in 40 top ecology journals and the ability of African scholars to afford to publish their work as open access and found that three‐quarters of journals required payment for open‐access publishing and the average cost in 2019 was $3150; an amount far greater than what African researchers can typically find from grant money or pay themselves. We encourage funders and publishers to facilitate a more equitable publishing model to allow African scholars to make their research available through open‐access publishing.
Abstract: Introduction: The function of scientific journals has become a kind of social registry of inventions and innovations. Student scientific journals are a means of disseminating scientific activity for undergraduates. The periodic evaluation, and with new methods is a truly the reliable tool for monitoring the quality of the editorial processes. Objective: To evaluate the functioning of Cuban student journals. Material and methods: A descriptive study was carried out in which the performance of the following Cuban student journals was evaluated: Revista 16 de Abril and Revista Universidad Médica Pinareña, in the period from January 2016 to December 2017. As an evaluation instrument, The Evaluation Indicators for Scientific Journals, established by the Editorial of Medical Sciences in its version 1.9, was used as the evaluation tool. Results: A favourable aspect in both journals is the management in the Open Journal Systems platform. However it is striking that their benefits and potentialities are not maximised. Both journals show high rates of endogamy. The Revista 16 de Abril had an overall score of 69 points and the Universidad Médica Pinareña 53 points. This could be due to low visibility indicators. Conclusions: Cuban student journals are at level C. They have a number of deficiencies for which measures should be taken by the Editorial Committees. If they hope to attract more and better publication proposals, their teams must work hard on the aspects outlined, as well as deficiencies, in terms of improving the functioning of their journals.
The Journal of Aerospace Technology and Management (JATM), was created in 2009 in Brazil by a group of researchers from the Instituto de Aeronáutica e Espaço. It was conceived and already from its ...beginning concerned with not becoming characterized as a local, regional or institutional journal. With the target public clearly defined, the international aerospace community led the formation of its editorial committee, internationalizing the board of ad hoc referees, and the process of searching for and selecting articles by authors affiliated with international institutions.
