Modern construction should comply with more complex objectives such as sustainability and so greater importance should be given to the selection of candidates stage.
Saaty AHP model and the DEA model ...have often been proposed to estimate the weights of the selection criteria but such applications may not respect the principles of equity and transparency required by public procurement as it is shown in this paper.
Therefore, the research question addressed is: how can such estimation be performed complying with such principles and avoiding non-structured and subjective procedures?
A new approach based on a multicriteria model using the OPTIONCARDS method is presented answering the research question and an illustration of its use to procure the design of a new public hospital in Portugal is also presented.
Future research can be developed using this approach to solve other problems such as the estimation of weights to evaluate tenders.
•The selection of candidates is a critical issue for sustainable and innovative contracting of public works.•Several methods based on AHP or DEA models do not comply with the public contracting principles of equity and transparency.•A multicriteria model is proposed to select candidates using the OPTIONCARDS method and complying with such principles.•This model can have significant impacts on research advances about other related issues such as tender evaluation.
This article examines what kind of personal data disclosure may make it difficult to get employed and what kind of excessive (unlawful) data is collected when selecting candidates in Lithuania. The ...analysis reveals that there have been a number of justified complaints regarding the selection of employees via recruitment platforms and the provided application forms that specifically requested an excessive amount of information, or situations in which the conditions indicated in job listings were adapted to a specific circle of people, thus eliminating other potential candidates, such as persons of pre-retirement age, young families, persons with children, persons of a particular gender and similar groups of people. The purpose of this article is to identify methods of unlawful collection of personal data, as well as the types of requested personal data, the origin of which may lead to discrimination during the recruitment process in Lithuania. The article analyses the legality of documents requested from candidates, data collected from them by filling out application forms and providing preliminary or additional information during job interviews, or information gathered from former employers or social networks.
Evaluation of employees in industrial enterprises is a problem, because evaluators often make decisions based on subjective feelings. The objective approach is missing in the evaluation of employees. ...Objective approach during evaluation of employees can be achieved by applying the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process. We applied the method in the field of HR management in three enterprises in Slovakia. For the first time, we used the method in an enterprise in selection process of the position of HR worker, where on the basis of the criteria, we recommended the most suitable candidate for the enterprise. The second was the application of the method in the enterprise for evaluating managers, where the enterprise needed to identify qualitative differences between managers and then determine, in which fields the employees must improve. The third application was the creation of a methodology for evaluating the competencies of managers in enterprise. In the above-mentioned enterprise, there was defined a competency model, which served as a system of criteria for evaluation, and by the application of method, quality of managers was able to be expressed by the synthetic indicator.

En el presente análisis se efectúa un estudio sobre la procedencia social, profesional y política de los candidatos del Partido Popular y del Partido Socialista Obrero Español por la circunscripción de Málaga en las Elecciones Generales de 2011. Se presta especialmente atención a si existen elementos comunes en el proceso de selección de los miembros de ambas listas electorales.

This article, which is based on the materials of a paper presented at the General Meeting of RAS Members on December 8, 2020, formulates new materials-science and technological approaches to ensure ...the safety and economic efficiency of the operation of new-generation nuclear power plants. The importance of the complementary application of multilevel modeling, accelerated radiation tests of the properties of materials and products in support of design solutions, and the need to create an advanced regulatory framework and standards for the introduction of new methods of design of materials and production technologies are emphasized. It is noted that a number of promising projects for the development of new materials are successfully being implemented in cooperation with the institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The main directions of cooperation between industrial research institutes and academic institutes in the interests of nuclear energy are listed.
