In pharmaceutical education, the current practical training program to understand roles of pharmacists in the comprehensive community health care system and the uneven distribution of pharmacists is ...insufficient. We conducted an original educational program named “Practice of Community Health Care and Pharmacy I”, which included fieldwork, for 15 first-year pharmacy students at Wakayama Medical University aimed at understanding the uneven distribution of pharmacists. The overall satisfaction with the practice (0–100%) was assessed through a satisfaction survey. The usefulness of the practice was evaluated using a questionnaire based on the self-evaluation score (average of six questions, 1–4 points each) asking “Can you explain about community health care and uneven distribution?” The satisfaction was 78.0 ± 8.0% (mean ± standard deviation). After the practice, the self-evaluation scores increased significantly from 1.5 ± 0.3 points to 3.0 ± 0.3 points (mean ± standard deviation). In the students’ practice reports, words such as “pharmacy”, “medical care”, “pharmacist”, and “community” were found to be relevant. The results suggest that practice helps students to understand community health care and uneven distribution of pharmacists. Additionally, a fieldwork may be effective to bring awareness among students about the uneven distribution of pharmacists.

The basic handball technique training for beginners must be in accordance with the physical condition of the player. The intensity and frequency of the exercises are determined precisely so that the ...exercises are effective and efficient. This research focuses on appropriate training programs so that optimal training results. The target of this research is in the form of training instruments / training programs and research results are published in reputable international journals. The research method used is research and development. The product developed in this research and development refers to the training program that is expected to be a reference in the implementation of basic handball technical training for beginners. From the results of the study, the training program for handball games has a validity of 0.87 so that it can be concluded that the training program for the adequacy of the basic handball technique is effectively used for the beginner athlete training program. Besides that, the training program for the adequacy of basic handball techniques is very much in accordance with the characteristics, growth, development of learners and beginner athletes and is able to make students easier to learn the basic techniques of handball games. The results of the measurement exercise, passing exercises performed 126 times, dribbling exercises performed 238 times, and shooting exercises were carried out 125 times.
•Mixed-mode parenting training is effective in reducing negative parenting.•Necessary to establish a culturally appropriate program to reduce negative parenting.•Mixed-mode delivery could overcome ...the barriers to program implementation.
This study examined the effectiveness of a mixed-mode parenting training program in Hong Kong during the COVID-19 pandemic with a quasi-experiment. Altogether 139 parents of preschoolers (ages 3–6) participated in this study and completed the survey on Family Emotional Expressiveness, Child Behavior, Authoritative & Responsive & Negative Parenting across three time points during the lockdowns. They were cluster randomly assigned to the intervention (N1 = 69) and control groups (N2 = 70). The intervention was a 3-month mixed-mode parental training program, including 12-session videos followed by phone calls and homework assignments. The control group did not receive any parental training during the same period. The repeated ANOVA results indicated that: (1) there was a significant main effect of Time (p =.012, ηp2 = 0.045) on parents physical coercion dimension (PCD) scores and also a significant interaction effect between Time and Group (p =.042, ηp2 = 0.032), with the experimental group improved more over time; (2) there was a significant main effect of time (p =.027, ηp2 = 0.036) on parents’ verbal hostility dimension (VHD) scores, but no significant Time*Group interaction effect; (3) there was no significant Time effect in parents’ score on Negative Submissive (NS), but there was a significant interaction effect between time and group (p =.004, ηp2 = 0.054), with the experimental group reduced more than the control group. These results further provided empirical evidence to support the effectiveness of a mixed-mode parental training program in reducing negative parenting, including the negative submissive emotional expressions at home, physical coercion, and verbal hostility in interacting with preschool children at home. Implications based on social-cultural contexts are also discussed.
The purpose of this study was to empirically determine the provision of small-sided games 4vs2, 4vs3, and 4vs4 exercises on the basic skills of futsal athletes. This research is included in the ...experimental research. Participants of the study were 30 male teenage futsal athletes in Banyumas Regency. The data retrieval technique of this study used passing-controlling tests. The analysis used the normality test, homogeneity test, paired t-test test, and independent t-test with a significance level of 0.05. This study showed that the administration of SSG 4v2, 4v3, 4v4 exercises significantly influenced the fundamental skill improvement of futsal athletes. The largest increase was achieved by providing the SSG 4vs4 group with an average of ± 13.63. The results of the one-way Anova test showed that there were differences among 4vs2, 4vs3, and 4vs4 exercises. The increase might be because the SSG 4vs4 exercise suits the actual futsal game. Thus it encourages athletes to perform as many passing movements as possible. Therefore, SSG 4vs4 training is more effective in improving the basic skills of futsal athletes. It is crucial for practitioners because it allows the provision of exercises simultaneously so that training stimulus becomes more efficient.
Based on evidence from a large‐scale leadership training field experiment, this article advances our knowledge about the possibilities for training leaders toward more active and effective ...leadership. In the field experiment, public and private leaders were randomly assigned to a control group or one of three leadership training programs: Transformational, transactional, or a combined program. Employee responses from 463 organizations show that the training can affect leadership behavior positively in very different organizations (primary and secondary schools, daycare centers, tax centers, and bank units). Furthermore, for the subsample of school principals, we find some evidence of training effects on performance in standardized tests in elementary schools and final exams in lower secondary schools. We discuss these findings in relation to training content and performance criteria.
Trained ICU nurses may perform oesophageal pressure measurements which may help facilitate its implementation in the usual patient care to better assess lung and chest wall mechanics and easily ...detect patient-ventilator asynchronies.
We thus conducted a prospective educational study aiming to assess the ability of ICU nurses to perform reliable oesophageal pressure measurements after a short dedicated training program.
All the 11 nurses who completed the program succeeded their practical evaluation (nine (82%) at the first evaluation and two (18%) at their second attempt).
These results show that this training program is feasible and that trained ICU nurses can perform accurate oesophageal pressure measurements in mechanically ventilated patients.
Such training program may help to implement this technique in routine ICU care.
Resistance training programs play a crucial role in optimizing soccer performance. The aim of this study is to compare performance outcomes in sport-specific tasks after implementing two different ...flywheel resistance training (FRT) programs: variable intensity (VI) and constant intensity (CI). Seventeen ( n = 17) amateur footballers were divided into VI and CI groups with the same training volume. For the VI group, a decrease in inertial load was implemented every four sessions, whereas the CI group maintained a constant load during the entire program. After different familiarization sessions and testing (sprint, change of direction, jump, one-repetition maximum and flywheel strength variables), ten sessions of FRT were performed over 5 weeks. Both groups showed similar improvements in the one-repetition maximum ( p < 0.01) but the CI group had significant improvements in the 10-m sprint ( p = 0.04; ES = 0.72), emphasizing the potential benefits of medium inertial loads to maximize power and specificity in sport tasks. However, no significant differences were observed in the countermovement jump, change of direction and 30-m sprint, possibly attributed to neuromuscular fatigue from a high-volume training schedule and friendly matches. The study highlights the importance of considering training load distribution in FRT programs. The findings emphasize the need for complementary training to maximize the jump and change of direction abilities and caution against high-volume training and friendly match scenarios. In conclusion, FRT programs, whether varying in intensity or not, can yield medium-term performance improvements for soccer players.
