We studied the phytosociology, ecology and biogeography of the Dinaric fir-beech stands (Omphalodo-Fagetum) in the Trnovski gozd plateau, at the north-western part of the Illyrian floral province. We ...identified and confirmed two geographical variants (var. geogr. Saxifraga cuneifolia - central and western part of the plateau, and var. geogr. Calamintha grandiflora - eastern part of the plateau), and 10 floristically and ecologically well differentiated subassociations (-rhododendretosum hirsuti,-saxifragetosum cuneifoliae, -adenostyletosum glabrae, -festucetosum altissimae, -calamagrostietosum arundinaceae, -stellarietosum montanae, -seslerietosum autumnalis, -calamagrostietosum variae, -sambucetosum nigrae and -asaretosum europei). The most frequent stands bellong to the subassociation
festucetosum altissimae and -calamagrostietosum arundinaceae, which, in terms of site ecology and floristic composition, represent the central forest types in the research area. They are floristically impoverished and lack majority of association’s characteristic species which is in line with the biogeographic peculiarites of the research area.
Podali smo fitocenološko, ekološko in biogeografsko oznako gozdov bukve in jelke (Omphalodo-Fagetum) v Trnovskem gozdu, ki v biogeografskem oziru predstavlja severozahodni rob Ilirske florne province. Ugotovili in potrdili smo dve geografski varianti (var. geogr. Saxifraga cuneifolia - osrednji in zahodni del planote in var. geogr. Calamintha grandiflora - vzhodni del planote) in 10 subasociacij, ki se floristično in okoljsko dobro razlikujejo (-rhododendretosum hirsuti, -saxifragetosum cuneifoliae, -adenostyletosum glabrae, -festucetosum altissimae, -calamagrostietosum arundinaceae, -stellarietosum montanae, -seslerietosum autumnalis, -calamagrostietosum variae, -sambucetosum nigrae in -asaretosum europei). Osrednjo in najbolj pogosto obliko dinarskih jelovo bukovih gozdov predstavljajo sestoji
festucetosum altissimae in
calamagrostietosum arundinaceae. Sestoji teh subasociacij so floristično obubožani, zastopanost značilnih vrst dinarskega gozda jelke in bukve pa najmanjša, kar je skladno z biogeografskimi značilnostmi območja.

Percepcija građana o upravitelju željezničkom infrastrukturom nerijetko
se formira na temelju izgleda pružnoga pojasa, i to uglavnom
stanja vegetacije. Ako se željezničkom infrastrukturom pravilno ...upravlja,
vegetacija je pod nadzorom i kontrolom. Točno je definiran izgled pruge,
bankina i pružnoga tijela. Radovi na održavanju vegetacije kontinuirano
se provode u potrebnome opsegu tijekom čitave godine i tijekom eksploatacije
željezničke pruge.
Ako intenzitet potrebnih radova nije odgovarajući, dolazi do zakorovljenja
koje, ako se promptno ne zaustavi, dovodi kolosijek, bankine i pružno
tijelo u neprimjereno stanje. Svaki izostanak zahtijevanoga i propisanoga
izgleda pružnoga pojasa i potrebnih kontinuiranih radova štetno utječe
i na sigurnost željezničkog prometa.
The book (‘Geography and plant succession. Selected examples from Slovene regions’) is dealing with ecological succession which is one of three kinds of changes in vegetation. The other two are ...regeneration (or the result of necrosis and regrowth of organisms) and fluctuation (or changes in biomass in longer and shorter time cycles–also seasonal changes). Ecological succession or ecological sequence can be understood as a temporal-spatial clarification of the evolutionary development of a community from bare soil to a stable community which is balanced with its environment. The book is divided in two parts. In the first part, succession is presented on a theoretical basis. The development of the concept of succession through history, its mechanisms and processes carried on in it are clarified. Different types of succession as well as pioneer species and climax societies as the starting and final point of the process under consideration are described. In separated chapters, invasive species and soils as well as their role in succession are discussed. In the second part, individual selected environments (gravel pits in rivers, screes, rockfall areas, fire areas and construction pits) where the two major types of succession are prevailing are presented.
The paper discusses the phytosociological and syntaxonomical position of the dry subalpine grasslands in the Slavianka (Alibutoush, Orvilos) Mts. (South-Western Bulgaria, Northern Greece). A new ...association Saxifrago ferdinandi-coburgi-Seslerietum actarovii ass. nova has been established as a result of the phytosociological study. It is considered as an endemic vegetation unit from the calcareous subalpine terrains in the Central Balkan Peninsula high mountains (Southwestern Bulgaria, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Northern Greece). The new syntaxon belongs to the alliance Edrajantho-Seslerion Horvat 1949. A comparison with related syntaxa from other calcareous mountains from Northern Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is discussed.
V članku avtorji obravnavajo fitosociološki in sintaksonomski položaj suhih subalpinskih travnikov v gorovju Slavjanka (Alibutoush, Orvilos) (jugozahodna Bolgarija, severna Grčija). Kot rezultat fitocenoloških raziskav so opisali novo asociacijo Saxifrago ferdinandi-coburgi-Seslerietum actarovii ass. nova. Obravnavajo jo kot endemično vegetacijsko enoto iz subalpinskega pasu visokih gora v srednjem delu Balkanskega polotoka (jugozahodna Bolgarija, Makedonija, severna Grčija). Novoopisani sintakson uvrščajo v zvezo Edrajantho-Seslerion Horvat 1949. Sintakson so primerjali s sorodnimi sintaksoni iz drugih apneniških gora iz severne Grčije in Makedonije.
The paper presents results of actual phytocoenological research of acidophilous dry grasslands of the Koelerio-Phleion phleoidis Korneck 1974 alliance on the quartzite bedrock in western Slovakia. ...The modified TWINSPAN analysis distinguished two associations in the study area. Avenulo pratensis-Festucetum valesiacae Vicherek et al. in Chytry et al. 1997 is dominated by Festuca valesiaca s.l. and it is distributed on the quartzite hills in the Tribeč Mts. Potentillo heptaphyllae-Festucetum rupicolae (Klika 1951) Toman 1970 occurs at sites in the Biele Karpaty Mts and Považsky Inovec Mts and it is dominated by Festuca rupicola. The paper brings very first data on distribution of Avenulo pratensis-Festucetum valesiacae in Slovakia and extends knowledge on occurrence of Potentillo heptaphyllae-Festucetum rupicolae. Both associations represent very rare vegetation types of Central Europe. In Slovakia, they occur locally at small sized stands and are threatened by successional changes caused by cessation of traditional management and island occurrence within other vegetation types. Main environmental gradients responsible for variation in species composition of these grasslands were revealed by the principal component analysis (PCA) and interpreted using indicator values and measured characteristics of the study sites. The major pattern of variation reflects altitude, which is negatively correlated with temperature and soil depth. The relationship between species composition and environmental factors (pedology, topography, geographical position) was analysed by redundancy analysis (RDA). The most important factor affecting the data variation was longitude followed by soil pH, slope and latitude.
V članku so predstavljeni rezultati fitocenološke raziskave kisloljubnih suhih travišč zveze Koelerio-Phleionphleoidis Korneck 1974 na kvarcitni matični podlagi na zahodnem Slovaškem. Z modificirano TWINSPAN analizo smo na raziskovanem območju ločili dve asociaciji. V sestojih asociacije Avenulo pratensis-Festucetum valesiacae Vicherek et al. in Chytry et al. 1997 prevladuje vrsta Festuca valesiaca s.l., ki je razširjena na kvarcitnem hribovju v gorovju Tribeč. Sestoje asociacije Potentillo heptaphyllae-Festucetum rupicolae (Klika 1951) Toman 1970 najdemo v gorovjih Biele Karpaty in Považsky Inovec in v njih prevladuje vrsta Festuca rupicola. V članku se prvič omenja pojavljanje asociacije Avenulo pratensis-Festucetum valesiacae na Slovaškem, ki razširja poznavanje razširjenosti asociacije Potentillo heptaphyllae-Festucetum rupicolae. Obe asociaciji predstavljata redke vegetacijske tipe v srednji Evropi. Na Slovaškem se pojavljata lokalno na majhnih površinah in sta ogroženi s sukcesijskimi spremembami zaradi opuščanja tradicionalnega gospodarjenja in zaradi izoliranega pojavljanja znotraj drugih vegetacijskih tipov. Glavne ekološke gradiente, ki so odgovorni za variabilnost vrstne sestave travišč, smo dobili z uporabo metode glavnih komponent (PCA) in jih ovrednotili z indikatorskimi in merjenimi vrednostmi. Glavni vzorec variabilnosti se odraža zaradi nadmorske višine, ki je v negativni korelaciji s temperaturo in globino tal. Povezavo med vrstno sestavo in okoljskimi dejavniki (pedologijo, topografijo, geografskim položajem) smo analizirali z analizo presežkov (RDA). Najpomembnejši dejavnik je bila geografska dolžina, ki ji sledijo pH tal, naklon in geografska širina.
Research of macrophyte vegetation of the artificial water reservoirs was carried out during the vegetation season of 2008 in the Krupinská planina Mts. (southern part of central Slovakia). Twenty-one ...reservoirs were studied and twenty plant communities from the Lemnetea, Potametea and Phragmito-Magnocaricetea classes were found. Potametum acutifolii is a new aquatic community for the territory of Slovakia that was found in the reservoir near Hrušov village in intermediately deep, slightly alkaline water with a relatively low content of soluble mineral matters, a high water transparency and a silt-clay sediment on the bottom. Moisture was the main environmental gradient of the studied vegetation explained by Ellenberg's indicator values. Species richness was significantly negatively correlated with water depth. The correlation between the area of reservoirs and the number of detected plant communities was weak and non-significant. Changes of macrophyte vegetation were studied on the case of three reservoirs. Detected changes were caused mainly by human activities or water level fluctuations within the studied period.
Raziskave makrofitske vegetacije umetnih vodnih smo izvedli v vegetacijski sezoni leta 2008 v hribovju Krupinská planina (južni del osrednje Slovaške). Raziskali smo enaindvajset vodnih teles in našli dvaindvajset rastlinskih združb iz razredov Lemnetea, Potametea in Phragmito-Magnocaricetea. Asociacija Potametum acutifolii je nova vodna rastlinska združba, najdena na ozemlju Slovaške. Našli smo jo v vodnem telesu blizu vasi Hrušov v srednjegloboki, rahlo alkalni vodi z razmeroma nizko vsebnostjo raztopljenih mineralnih snovi, z visoko vodno prepustnostjo in muljasto-glineno usedlino na dnu. Glavni okoljski gradient obravnavane vegetacije, kot kažejo Ellenbergove indikacijske vrednosti, je vlažnost. Število vrste je v negativni odvisnosti z globino vode. Korelacija med površino vodnega telesa in številom najdenih rastlinskih združb je bila nizka in ni bila značilna. Spremembe makrofitske vegetacije smo proučevali v treh vodnih zbiralnikih. Opažene spremembe so posledica predvsem človeških dejavnosti ali nihanja vodnega nivoja v obravnavanem obdobju.
The phytosociology and ecology of Heliosperma pusillum in freezing ravines of the Trnovski gozd plateau (Slovenia, NW Dinaric Mts) are discussed. The species thrive on shadowy, moist, cold and stable ...screes of boulders with long-lasting snow cover. The stands belonged to the association Drepanoclado uncinati-Heliospermetum pusilli (Salicion retusae, Arabidetalia caeruleae, Thlaspietea rotundifolii). Due to close proximity to the Julian Alps, the stands host a significant number of SE - Alpine and N-Illyrian species. Therefore, a new geographical variant Paederota lutea is described. Differential species for the geographical variant are Phyteuma scheuchzeri ssp. columnae, Valeriana saxatilis, Rhodothamnus chamaecistus, and Saxifraga cuneifolia. For less stable screes with smaller rocky particles a new subassociation salicetosum retusae is described, and the differential species for the subassociation are Salix retusa and Poa alpina. Stands of the association Drepanoclado-Heliospermetum var. geogr. Paederota lutea from the Trnovski gozd plateau are on the north-westernmost part of the distribution area of the Dinaric alliance Salicion retusae.
Preučili smo fitocenološke in okoljske razmere vrste Heliosperma pusillum v mraziščih v Trnovskem gozdu (Slovenija, SZ Dinaridi). Vrsta uspeva na senčnih, vlažnih in hladnih ustaljenih meliščih in skalnatih blokih z dolgotrajno snežno odejo. Sestoji, v katerih uspeva vrsta Heliosperma pusillum, pripadajo združbi Drepanoclado uncinati-Heliosperetum pusilli (Salicion retusae, Arabidetalia caeruleae, Thlaspietea rotundifolii). Zaradi bližine Julijskih Alp je v sestojih prisotnih precej jugovzhodno-alpskih in severno-ilirskih vrst. Zato smo opisali novo geografsko varianto in jo poimenovali po vrsti Paederota lutea var. geogr. nova. Razlikovalne vrste za geografsko varianto so Paederota lutea, Phyteuma scheuchzeri ssp. columnae, Rhodothamnus chamaecistus, Saxifraga cuneifolia, and Valeriana saxatilis. Na manj umirjenih meliščih z drobnejšim kamenjem smo opisali novo subasociacijo salicetosum retusae subass. nova. Za razlikovalnici smo določili vrsti Salix retusa in Poa alpina. Sestoji asociacije Drepanoclado-Heliospermetum var. geogr. Paederota lutea iz Trnovskega gozda so na skrajnem severozahodnem robu areala vegetacije snežnih dolinic iz dinarske zveze Salicion retusae.
The paper presents results of a vegetation survey of the cemetery of Ljubljana as a specific urban habitat with a high diversity of vegetation types. Seventeen different plant communities were found, ...mostly weed (hoe weed and garden communities), trampled and ruderal communities. This indicates frequently disturbed habitat with different microclimatic conditions than those in the surroundings.
Članek predstavlja rezultate proučevanja vegetacije ljubljanskega pokopališča, ki je poseben urbani habitat z veliko diverziteto vegetacijskih tipov. Našli smo sedemnajst različnih rastlinskih združb, večinoma plevelnih (okopavinskih in vrtnih), pohojenih in ruderalnih sintaksonov. To nakazuje rastišče s pogostimi motnjami z drugačnimi mikroklimatskimi razmerami kot v okolici.
