In this paper, we examine external failures and internal faults traceable to web software and source contents. We develop related defect and quality measurements based on different perspectives of ...customers, users, information or service hosts, maintainers, developers, integrators, and managers. These measurements can help web information and service providers with their quality assessment and improvement activities to meet the quality expectations of their customers and users. The different usages of our measurement framework by different stakeholders of web sites and web applications are also outlined and discussed. The data sources include existing web server logs and statistics reports, defect repositories from web application development and maintenance activities, and source files. We applied our approach to four diverse websites: one educational website, one open source software project website, one online catalog showroom for a small company, and one e-Commerce website for a large company. The results demonstrated the viability and effectiveness of our approach.
In this paper we reflect on the differences between prototype-based and class-based programming languages and we introduce a new approach, called the Oea framework, that will allow JavaScript ...developers to write programs using a class-based style, which we assert is easy to use, has a syntax style that resembles that of the Java class-based approach and has high performance and reliability. We present a survey of the most widely used class-based techniques for JavaScript describing their methods and highlighting their shortcomings and compare the new approach with this earlier work. The approach has been developed in the context of a framework for developing Web applications using Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), JavaScript and the Resource Description Framework (RDF) which involved the construction of substantial libraries and other code using the approach.

As of 2021, the demand for online lectures has increased, and it has become difficult to understand students′ learning status in programming practice classes. Therefore, to effectively enhance ...learners′ motivation and ability even in online lectures, we developed an online programming environment that allows teachers to monitor how learners are programming in real-time. Our environment is flexible enough to support practical application development exercises, and the operation logs are recorded in detail. We introduced our environment to a hybrid lecture, including online and face-to-face lectures, and the analysis results showed some tendencies, such as the higher the grade, the more often the program was executed. The questionnaire survey results showed that about 90% of the students gave a positive opinion, but some improvements were found to be necessary. In the future, we will work on implementing features that were deemed necessary to improve the quality of the lecture.
This article describes the development of a web-based dynamic job-shop scheduling system for small and medium enterprises. In large enterprises, scheduling is mainly performed with appropriate ...technology by human experts; many small and medium enterprises lack the resources to implement such a task. The main objective was to develop a cost-effective, efficient solution for job-shop scheduling in small and medium enterprises with an emphasis on accessibility, platform independence and ease of use. For these reasons, we decided to develop a web-based solution with the main emphasis on the development of an intelligent and dynamic user interface. The solution is built upon modular programming principles and enables dynamic scheduling on the basis of artificial intelligence, i.e. genetic algorithms. The solution has been developed as a standalone information system, which allows the management of virtually all scheduling activities through an administration panel. In addition, the solution covers the five main functionalities that completely support the scheduling process, i.e. making an inventory of resources available in the company, using it in the process of production planning, collecting data on production activities, distribution of up-to-date information and insight over events in the system.
