The concept of working students meeting triple demands of their work, studies and private life has not been sufficiently described or empirically supported in the literature, although combining work ...and study is not only a necessity for many students, but a common phenomenon among them. As well, studies so far focused on the dyads of work-nonwork relationship, predominantly on the work-study conflict/balance and rarely on the study-life conflict/balance, while the triad of work-study-life balance (WSLB) is understudied. This study is the first one to empirically examine the WSLB concept, defined as a balance of conjoining three ‘categories of student commitment’ – their work obligations, demands of their studies and their private life, using a methodology grounded in the work-life balance (WLB) theory. We conducted a cross-sectional quantitative study on a sample of 235 students, focused on the most relevant dyads of the WSLB concept, socio-demographic predictors and emotional consequences of WSLB. Our five key findings are: (1) it is possible to balance work, studies and private life, (2) work-study balance (WSB) is critical for achieving WSLB, (3) all subgroups of students based on their socio-demographic characteristics are equally (un)successful in achieving balance between and among various life aspects, (4) WSLB is significantly participating in students’ emotional state in terms of their happiness, unhappiness and relaxation, and (5) the study-life balance (SLB) dyad is the most relevant dyad for the students’ emotional state.

The usage range of nowadays wireless communications become wide, all of the develop applications uses wireless communication which improve the mobility and improve the mobility of the network ...subscribers. As known that the antenna diversity scheme developed from "SISO" to "MIMO" that has a maximum capacity and ability to improve the communication quality with a good shields among the fading effects and other impairments. In this research work study and analysis to the antenna systems and antenna schemes was done taking into consideration the central antenna system and the distributed antenna system "CAS" and "DAS". A Matlab simulation was developed to test antenna configuration system in term of effeteness of fading channel while using different modulation order.
Coppices are a major potential source of forest biomass in Spain, where they occupy around 4M ha. Quercus coppices are mostly neglected because of their high harvesting costs and the small size of ...their products. This makes them very interesting to test and compare alternative means for utilizing their resources in an optimized way. Hence, a comparative study of motor-manual and mechanized felling and bunching was conducted when thinning dense coppice stands of the two most important oak species in Spain to obtain biomass for bioenergy use. In particular, the study matched chainsaw felling and manual piling against the work of a drive-to-tree feller-buncher previously analyzed in the very same sites. Productivity functions for motor-manual felling and piling were fitted for each species. The derived unit cost functions show that the felling-bunching costs are lower for the motor-manual option in stands of both species, particularly for the smaller tree sizes. Nevertheless, when the strongly reduced loading times in forwarding associated to the mechanization are taken into account, the total harvesting cost is often lower for the mechanized option. That is true for all tree sizes of Q. ilex, and for trees larger than 13 cm diameter at breast height (DBH) for Q. pyrenaica. Residual stand damage was low to moderate, but always significantly greater for the mechanized option compared with the motormanual one. Soil damage was very low for both alternatives. The stumps experimented significantly greater damages in the mechanized felling and bunching, but further research is needed to determine if those damages have any impact on stump mortality, sprouting capability and future plants vigor. The greater productivity and level of tree damages found in Q. ilex when compared to Q. pyrenaica are likely due to the narrower and lighter crown of the latter.
What difference does robotic telepresence make to the coordination of complex, dynamic, and distributed knowledge work? We explored this question in a post-surgical intensive care unit where medical ...workers struggled to coordinate their work in the face of different assessments of their extremely sick patients. Our in-depth field study examined night rounds, a central routine for coordinating work in this unit that was performed remotely through different technologies. We found that night rounds that are materially enacted through robotic telepresence intensify coordination outcomes both positively and negatively, resulting in contrary implications for subsequent coordination of work. We further found that these differences in intensification depend on whether preparatory work is more or less distanced from the bedside. We develop a theoretical account of these findings by explaining how the coordination of complex, dynamic, and distributed work is crucially related to how that work is materially enacted over time.
Cloud computing, rapidly emerging as a new computation paradigm, provides agile and scalable resource access in a utility-like fashion, especially for the processing of big data. An important open ...issue here is to efficiently move the data, from different geographical locations over time, into a cloud for effective processing. The de facto approach of hard drive shipping is not flexible or secure. This work studies timely, cost-minimizing upload of massive, dynamically-generated, geo-dispersed data into the cloud, for processing using a MapReduce-like framework. Targeting at a cloud encompassing disparate data centers, we model a cost-minimizing data migration problem, and propose two online algorithms: an online lazy migration (OLM) algorithm and a randomized fixed horizon control (RFHC) algorithm , for optimizing at any given time the choice of the data center for data aggregation and processing, as well as the routes for transmitting data there. Careful comparisons among these online and offline algorithms in realistic settings are conducted through extensive experiments, which demonstrate close-to-offline-optimum performance of the online algorithms.
•Adding biomass to oily sludge could promote the combustion process of oily sludge.•There existed different interactions between the co-combustion processes.•The reaction heat of oily sludge or wood ...combustion were obtained.•The results can enhance the understanding of oily sludge.
Thermal utilization of oily sludge has attracted increased attention. This work studies the combustion characteristics of oily sludge, and its interaction with biomass as well as the reaction heat during the drying and combustion processes of oily sludge. All the experiments were performed by thermogravimetry. Results showed that the co-combustion process of oily sludge with biomass could be divided into three stages with the increase of the temperature. Different interactions between components of oily sludge and biomass existed at different temperatures. At low temperatures (280–390°C) the interaction between these two fuels slowed down the combustion process of the mixtures, however, it accelerated the combustion process at high temperatures (390–620°C). The caloric requirement curves of oily sludge with various water contents were obtained by DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) curves. The reaction heat of oily sludge or biomass combustion was also presented. The results obtained can improve the understanding of oily sludge during the combustion process and consequently can be used to develop more efficient sludge combustion equipment.

In multi-scalar field cosmologies new dynamical degrees of freedom are introduced which can explain the observational phenomena. Unlike the usual scalar field theory where a single scalar field is ...considered, the multi-scalar field cosmologies allow more than one scalar field and exhibits interetsing consequences, such as quintom, hybrid inflation etc. The current work study the existence of exact solutions and integrable dynamical systems in multi-scalar field cosmology and more specifically in the so-called Chiral cosmology where nonlinear terms exists in the kinetic term of the scalar fields. We present the exact analytic solutions for a system of
N
-scalar fields. In particular, we consider a multi scalar field cosmological scenario comprised of
N
-scalar fields that are minimally coupled to the Einstein gravity. The geometry of the universe is described by the spatially flat homogeneous and isotropic line element and the scalar fields may interact in their kinetic or/and potential terms. Within this set up, we show that for a specific geometry in the kinetic part of the scalar fields and specific potential form, the gravitational field equations for the class of
N
-scalar field models can be exactly solved. More specifically, we show that the Einstein field equations in
N
-scalar field cosmology can be reduced to that of a

The work-study programme is a student-friendly and institution-friendly initiative that had been in legal existence for decades in the Western world. The benefits attached to work-study are enormous, ...some of which include acquisition of technical skills, research skills, administrative skills, leadership skills, increased financial income, and on-the-job experience, just to mention a few. However, in Nigerian tertiary schools, the work-study programme is yet to gain much foothold; many Nigerian students are not benefitting from school-created part-time job positions since many schools do not have such programmes in place. Although some Nigerian tertiary schools had embraced and as well created work-study programmes for students in this recent decade; however, the programme is still premature in such schools because not all of students are equally benefitting from that programmes. The medical and dental students especially those in the clinical phase of academic programmes are yet to benefit from such programmes due to the unfavourable structure of academic programmes and other factors. Hence, this article is to emphasise on the need for the creation of doable work-study opportunities for medical and students in Nigeria.
The article is devoted to the study of the effectiveness of organizing independent work in a foreign language lesson in high school using the example of home reading in a remote format in a situation ...of forced isolation. The situation with the coronavirus pandemic and forced isolation requires a rethinking of the process of teaching foreign languages, the adaptation of traditional methods and the development of new methods for remote work. The article discusses the importance of students' independent activities in the process of teaching a foreign language. The peculiarities of formation of communicative competence in the process of learning a foreign language are revealed. It describes the process of organizing home reading in English lessons, and analyzes the practical formation of communicative competence in the process of independent work in English lessons on home reading in a remote format. The specifics of the organization of home reading in the English language lesson at the level of basic general education based on the English Language educational and methodological complexes (EMC) (6th grade) and the tutorial Home reading is established. The theoretical significance of the study results is to replenish the idea of the effectiveness of the process of organizing home reading and the formation of communicative competence among secondary school students on the materials of home reading lessons in conditions of forced isolation. The practical value of the work lies in the analysis of a universal teaching manual for the formation of communicative competence in a remote format as part of independent work in English lessons for secondary school students in the aspect of home reading on the material of short stories.
