  • A computational approach to the problem of a plane strain consolidation of a poro-elastic layer on a rough base

    The problem of plain strain consolidation of a loaded clay layer on a smooth pervious or impervious base is dicussed. It follows the work of Marušič who has explained the by involving the advantage ... of such boundary conditions at the interface which allow the layer to adhere to the pervious or impervious rough rigid base. The paper emphasizes a numerical study where the practical aspect of formulas is discussed. The presented numerical example confirms the proposed approach thus giving a good starting platform for further investigations of the consolidation theory.
