  • Development of solar electricity plants in Slovenia [Elektronski vir]

    This paper investigates the development of the solar fotovoltaige electricity plants in Slovenia. The focus is on the investigation of the supply-side factors, which are determing solar electricity ... production. We estimate the production functions and the revenue functions for the solar electricity production, which are estimated on the monthly data for the period 2005-2008. We have found that the crucial technical supply-side factor to increase the solar electricity production is the installed capacitiy of the solar fotovoltaige electricity plants, but the sunray weather conditions can contribute to the monthly variations. As the crucial revenue factors are the purchase price for the solar electricity and the subsidy to producers, which both depends on the government policy. In the development of the solar fotovoltaige electricity plants the crucial is the investment appraisal efficiency, which should includes the appraisal of the crucial supply-side anddemand-side technical, economic, and ecological factors, and the measures of the government policy. The awaranes on the importance of the investments' efficiency into the solar fotovoltaige electricity plants, and the improved public opinion on the competitive abilitities for the renewble solar energy production are important determinants to assure the greater importance of the renewable solar energy in the long-term sustainable energy developments and uses in Slovenia.
