  • Determinants of electricity consumption in Slovenia [Elektronski vir]
    Papler, Drago ; Bojnec, Štefan
The consumption of electrical energy is tested in association with real price of electrical energy, real income of consumers, real prices of substitutes of the electrical energy, and the process, ... which has been caused by the electricity markets' liberalisation. This hypothesis is tested for industrial consumption and households' consumption of electrical energy by employing regression analysis on time-series data. The consumption of electrical energy by industrial users is negatively associated with real price of electrical energy, but positively associated with real gross domestic product. The consumption of electrical energy by households is negatively associated with real consumer price of electrical energy for households at the higher tariff price rate, and positively associated with real households' incomes and real price of substitutes as well as with the dummy variable for electricity price liberalisation expressed by the Gini coefficient of market concentration.
