  • The casual relationship between investment and profits [Elektronski vir] : empirical evidence at the industry level

    The problem that we examined is the theoretical and empirical analysis of the causal relationship between companiesʼs investment and their profits. Based on the findings of previous research that are ... not unanimous, we want to explore the causal link between profits and investment at the industry level in four EU countries. The theory on the field allows us to define three basic theses: investment determines profits on the level of industry sectors in a national economy, profits determine investment, profits determine investment and investment determine profits. We used the Granger (Granger 1986) definition of causality and the Toda-Yamamoto (Toda and Yamamoto 1995) procedure.
