  • ICT competence of students of business and management

    An ICT competence among population is considered to be one of the main driving forces in transition to the information society, for that reason it is in the focus of national education policies in ... all European countries. In the paper we present a realitively narrow segment of a wider research on educationand ICT competence. We concentrated on future managers - students of business and management in selected schools in Slovenia. Two main indicators that influence computer literacy of students prior entering university are identified: penetration of personal computers and Internet on the one hand and quality of secondary school IT courses on the other hand. Data in two years interval 1999 and 2001 are presented to identify and assess students' progress and evential progress in ICT competence.
