Cet article fait le point des recherches sur l'espace péri-urbain d'Angers et de La Roche-sur-Yon. Les auteurs s'attachent à repérer dans une optique comparatiste les concordances et les discordances dans les processus de polarisation de l'espace autour des deux villes. Ils étudient successivement les problèmes soulevés par l'aménagement des périphéries, le marché foncier et les comportements nouveaux des néo-résidents en matière scolaire et d'achats. Malgré des différences évidentes liées à l'histoire et à la situation des deux zones étudiées, les processus à l'œuvre illustrent la progressive emprise du fait urbain sur des campagnes jadis autonomes. This paper is devoted to peripherical space-organization around Angers and La Roche-sur-Yon. The authors stress the differences and likenesses in the spatial structuration of the two town's surroundings. They study at first urban planning, land-market and then the new behaviours of the new residents as for school and buying practices. In spite of obvious differences related to history and to both areas' size, the phenomenons at work clearly show the growing importance of the urban fact over the then autonomous country-side.
