American scientist, 05/2021, Letnik: 109, Številka: 3Journal Article
Over the past 19 years, the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) has grown from a committee of postdoctoral leaders from across the country to an established nonprofit with the continuous mission to improve the postdoctoral experience. Through advocacy and outreach activities, the NPA provides a unified national platform to facilitate connections, raise awareness, and collaborate with stakeholders within the postdoctoral community at all levels. Here, Ferguson discusses the results of the third iteration of the NPA Institutional Policy Survey, which seeks to understand the needs of the postdoc community, to document institutional and training environments, and to assess the supporting policies and training opportunities led by the offices of postdoctoral affairs that direct and manage these activities.
